We’re not just starting a restaurant; we’re building a brand.
F&O’s Sloppy Joes (“F&O’s”) is a multi-unit fast casual restaurant concept conceived by Fen Portmann Katz and Oliver Katz (the “Founders”).
Over the past two years, the Founders have pitched industry leaders, completed extensive market research, gathered direct consumer feedback through numerous pop-ups and tastings, and established a preliminary brand identity.
The plan is to open the first restaurant (“unit”) in approximately 18–21 months, targeting Q3 2027. Once the concept is proven and operations are stabilized, the goal is to open approximately five units within the first five years of operation.
While ambitious, the F&O’s concept is intentionally designed to be highly scalable. This scalability is driven by a focused menu, strong brand identity, smart and efficient design, optimally sized units, and a systematic approach to operations. At its core, the menu is deliberately simple and specific, built around three items: Sloppy Joes, tater tots, and cole slaw. This specificity enables operational efficiency, brand recognition, and repeatability across locations.
The Founders believe F&O’s has the potential to become a 20+ unit brand.
